MENOMONIE (January 30, 2010) – UW-Stout forward Joel Gaulrapp (Sr, Owatonna, Minn) is a candidate for the 2010 Frozen Four Skills Challenge scheduled for Friday, April 9 at Ford Field in Detroit, Mich., in conjunction with the NCAA Division I Men’s Frozen Four.
The original list of more than 150 players was trimmed to 68 by a selection committee. Fans will be able to select six positions players and two goalies from each gender of the East team and each gender of the West team for a total of 32 players to the final rosters. Gaulrapp is vying for a spot on the West team and is one of two NCAA Division III players still remaining for consideration on the West team.
Voting for the players begins Monday, Feb. 1 and runs through Monday, Feb. 15. The on-line voting can be access through the NCAA web site at http://www.ncaa.com/frozenfourskillschallenge/index.html
You are able to vote as many times as you’d like. So keep voting over and over for Joel! You’ll find his ballot under the ‘Men’s West’ category.
The selection committee will take all voting into consideration prior to making its announcement of the final rosters by the end of February.
Last season, UW-Stout’s Nick Klaren, who now plays for the South Carolina Sting Rays in the ECHL, was an alternate to the Frozen Four Skills Challenge.
