Stouthockey.com – Who is your favorite NHL player?

Brandon: Brett Burns

Stouthockey.com – Who is your favorite NHL team?
Brandon: Minnesota Wild

Stouthockey.com – What is your favorite arena to play-in in the NCHA?

Brandon: Well with myself not being able to play yet at all of the arenas my options are limited, but UW-Superior for sure after the Peters Cup last year.

Stouthockey.com – Do you have any pre-game rituals you have to do?
Brandon: *Laugh* Yeah, unlike most guys on the team, i have plenty that i do every day in the same order. I start off with going to the store, buying a 5 hour energy with a powerade and a candy bar. Getting to the rink, listening to the same play list 3 times till warm-ups, taping my stick 35 min before warm-ups, and making sure i get dressed the same way at the same time every game.

Stouthockey.com – Do you have a favorite stick?

Brandon: I haven’t used a good one piece in a couple years, but i would have to say Easton SE 17 forsberg curve 100 flex.

Stouthockey.com – Favorite skates?

Brandon: Well it’s hard to find skates my size but i do like vapor 50′s

Stouthockey.com – Blondes or brunettes?

Brandon: Well i’ve been in trouble a lot with blondes, but that’s the fun part, so i gotta stick with blondes *laugh*

Stouthockey.com – Boxers or briefs?

Brandon: Boxers 100 %

Stouthockey.com – Speed boat or pontoon boat?
Brandon: Speed boat, pontoons are boring

Stouthockey.com – When not playing hockey, what would we find you doing?

Brandon: Probably relaxing in my bed, or building something from scratch with wood, nails and a hammer.

Stouthockey.com – Goals for the team this year?
Brandon: Obviously make it to NY again, but just play like we all know how to play, we all know we can do it.

UW-Stout has garnered success over the last three or four years, and other teams across the country are taking note. UW-Stout has been invited to participate in what many sports reporters call “the best tournament in Division III hockey.” This prestigious tournament, known as the PrimeLink Great Northern Shootout, is held annually over Thanksgiving weekend. What makes it so prestigious you ask?

The competitive atmosphere of the tournament and the quality of sportsmanship has remained a constant over the last ten years. This year will prove to be no different – sustaining its reputation as a highly energized college hockey event for fans and a quality measuring stick for the teams as they enter the season.

With the National Champion coming out of this tournament seven of the ten years – the tournament is truly a major college hockey attraction and a solid tradition in college hockey. — Courtesy of PrimeLinkShootout.com

UW-Stout will travel by bus to Norwich University in Norwich, VT for the holiday tournament. I’m sure to expect many fans & parents in tow for this wonderful event as Blue Devils fans travel well all over the country. What makes this year extra exciting is the host, Norwich University, is also coincidentally celebrating 100 years of college hockey at their institution.

All the games will be available by live webcast free of charge. UW-Stout will face-off in its first match-up against Norwich on Novermber 27th, 2009 at 7p.m. EST.

You can count on Stouthockey.com to bring you all the inside coverage including photos, video, live blogging on Twitter and player interviews from Vermont.
